Humbled by the reaction to our Uccello Kettle
There was a wonderful crowd at The Occupational Therapy Show at The NEC Birmingham this week.
Occupational Therapists help people with an injury or disability to live independently in their homes. We felt right at home with our kettle and our partners in the UK, Able2.
We were honoured to be there alongside our good friends and partners Able2UK. They provide a range of products that improve independence for people inside and outside the home, including our Uccello Kettle.
Our first time to showcase our kettle at The Occupational Therapy Show in the UK
This was our first time showcasing our Uccello Kettle at an event that was specifically aimed at Occupational Therapists in the UK. The feedback was amazing.
We are humbled by the reaction to our Uccello Kettle from the professionals. These OT’s are working with people with disabilities and mobility issues, daily.
The more experienced OT’s were excited to see a product that that looked good as well as functioned safely. Many of them compared our kettle to old kettle tippers.
Providing products that are stylish, elegant and reliable
Our vision was to provide products that are stylish and elegant as well as reliable, functional and safe. Too often we find products designed for people with limited strength. They look and feel as though they should belong in a nursing home or hospital. We believe that this isn’t necessary.
A great alternative to the average kettle or kettle tipper
When someone is diagnosed with an illness such as Parkinson’s or arthritis completing daily tasks safely or with ease can be difficult. Their pride can take a knock. Our Uccello Kettle doesn’t show anything that might point towards someone with a disability. It is a great alternative to the average kettle or kettle tipper. They benefit from the safety elements of our kettle too – it’s a win, win.
It was such a valuable event for us. We had conversations with Occupational Therapists about the trials and tribulations involved in finding the right products to bring independence to their clients.
Our team enjoyed speaking to OT’s working in many different areas, from schools, rehabilitation units, prisons, hospitals and we had many interesting conversations with independent OT’s.
It was great chatting with students who are just beginning their journey as Occupational Therapist’s. It was great to get their feedback and hear their enthusiasm about their new career.
One thing that shone through over the two days was the care and interest the OT’s had for their clients. We are glad you like our pens too 🙂
We loved getting the positive feedback from many of the wheelchair users attending the event. Many of these were researchers. The theme that runs through the day is the modern look which doesn’t scream disability.
Thanks to ABLE2UK for the invitation and all the hard work you put in over the 2 days. And thanks to everyone who stopped by our stand. Even if it was for just a pen or 2 ? we hope to see you again soon!
