The Uccello Kettle creator
Master craftsmanship is the calling card of designer, developer and entrepreneur, Andy DePetra, a passionate, Italian inventor who combined his love of Italian design standards with the art of coffee drinking, to create the design for the sophisticated, yet functional Uccello patented Kettle.
European influence
Leaving Italy when he was just 6 years old, Andy arrived on the shores of Perth, Western Australia in 1952 – bringing with him a hidden talent for inventing, innovating and developing new business ideas and products that would flourish throughout his new life on foreign shores.
Retaining his love for Italian cafe society and good Italian coffee, Andy wanted to combine function with aesthetic to develop an ergonomic kettle concept that had never been seen before.
Ergonomics and design
The Uccello Kettle with fluid, “power-pour” technology. The Kettle tilts the kettle housing to deliver steaming hot water to the desired vessel, without causing undue pressure and weight-bearing to the coffee maker.
The Uccello Kettle, with its uniquely designed pendulum arc of forward motion, remarkably resembles a small bird and was aptly named “Uccello” which means “bird” in Italian.
