Uccello maintains a healthy presence in the UK assistive technology market through the strong connection with industry leaders Drive DeVilbiss. A recent visit has allowed Uccello to build on the relationship with the UK team and expand into other parts of Europe.
Trade Days 2016
Last month Uccello CEO, Jonathan Billington, travelled to Birmingham for the Trade Days expo in support of our UK partner, Drive DeVilbiss.
The 2-day event focuses solely on trade businesses and partners who service the assistive technology industry. Visitors are primarily business owners, comprised of those looking to see what’s new in the industry and those wanting to connect with their suppliers in person.
While at the event, Jonathan had the opportunity to display and discuss the Uccello Kettle with the base of customers associated with Drive throughout the UK and Ireland.
The exposure at Trade Days resulted in some very encouraging feedback and positive connections for the distribution of the Kettle.
Uccello’s UK partnership
Drive DeVilbiss is a leading supplier of durable medical products to over 850 businesses located throughout the UK and Ireland.
The Trade Days event was the first time the Uccello Kettle had been focused on at a Drive exhibition. Over the 2 days, Jonathan had the opportunity to spend valuable time building his relationship with the Drive team and their customers.
“The support of the Uccello Kettle from the Drive team and the response from their customers was fantastic.”
Assistive technology in the UK
Experiencing an event of this size enabled Jonathan to gain a much clearer understanding of the assistive technology market in the UK.
He learnt how funding and government support is structured in the UK, and how Uccello fits into this structure. He saw how, over time, the Uccello Kettle will have its own place within these systems. And eventually become more accessible to people who would benefit from its functionality in their everyday lives.
A positive future
As a result of the meetings and conversations at Trade Days there are now approximately 50 new outlets that stock the Uccello Kettle.
“Since getting back to Australia our relationship with Drive is strong and I look forward to working alongside them for many years.”
